The foundation for financial analysis is understanding how a business operates and how those activities are quantified in financial statements.

An important prerequisite to financial analysis is a basic understanding of the types of financial information provided by borrowers. It is also important to understand the accounting principles governing the preparation and presentation of financial statements. Finally, the lender/analyst must understand the impact the choice of accounting principles used in the presentation of financial statements will have on reporting earnings and cash flow.

This course will demonstrate through a series of case studies the preparation and presentation of financial statements.
